Every 10 years, the U.S. Census Bureau is charged with counting every person living in the country. The next census is scheduled for 2020. But this time around, the routine count is becoming the subject of a new political fight.

The Trump administration wants to add a question to the survey that could influence the overall count — especially in states with large immigrant populations. Syeda Hasan (@KUTsyeda) of KUT has the view from Texas.
