Turkey is an important U.S. ally that has been shifting toward Russia. And the strained U.S.-Turkey ties are under even more pressure thanks to Turkey's military operation in northern Syria.

Amid the negative signals, foreign investment is slumping, but Turkey continues to promote itself as a thriving economy with rising potential.
