In hour one of Here & Now's March 14, 2018 full broadcast, it's been one month since 17 people were killed in a shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Student Zach Hibshman tells us about an organization he's since co-created, which asks parents, guardians and other adults to sign a contract promising that they will only vote for candidates that put the safety of children ahead of guns. Also, we remember Stephen Hawking, one of the world's best-known scientists, with a professor at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill who was a friend of Hawking's. And new information has come to light in the case of a man detained at Guantanamo Bay in connection with the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole. Carol Rosenberg of The Miami Herald discusses her latest reporting on the case. You can read and hear more at hereandnow.org, follow us on Twitter and join the conversation on Facebook and Tumblr.
