The Senate Judiciary Committee is holding its hearing Thursday on the sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Christine Blasey Ford, who was the first woman to publicly accuse Kavanaugh, is testifying. We get the latest from NPR's Domenico Montanaro. Also, new data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say an estimated 80,000 Americans died of the flu and its complications last winter, making it the deadliest flu season in decades. And later this fall, Arizona will elect a woman to the Senate for the first time. We learn more about the race and candidates from Bret Jaspers, senior field correspondent at KJZZ. That and more, in hour one of Here & Now's Sept. 27, 2018 full broadcast. You can read and hear more at hereandnow.org, follow us on Twitter and join the conversation on Facebook.
