Chicago Area Sees Steep Rise In Suicide Among Black People

Cook County, Illinois, which includes Chicago and some suburbs, is on track for its highest rate of suicide among Black people in at least a decade. While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports the number of suicides in the U.S. has been rising for decades, there hasn't been a similar rise in suicide among Latinx or white residents of Cook County this year.
