Postmaster General Louis DeJoy testified Friday before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, in response to accusations from Democrats that he helped President Trump sabotage the delivery of mail-in ballots.

The U.S. Postal Service has long suffered financial problems. Earlier this month DeJoy, a Republican fundraiser and Trump donor, announced an "organizational realignment" at the agency that he put on hold after harsh criticism from congressional Democrats.

Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson speaks with NPR congressional correspondent Kelsey Snell.

This segment aired on August 21, 2020.
