Enrollment in day care is down 67% on average across the United States since the pandemic began. Decreased revenue and increased expenses for things like cleaning and staff mean many day care centers are struggling financially.

Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson talks with Anna Sale, host of WNYC's "Death, Sex & Money," about a 24-hour child care center in Pittsburgh and one of the parents, a single mother who works at night, who relies on it.

This segment aired on September 9, 2020.
