For decades, police in Texas have used hypnosis to solve crimes. But now Charles Don Flores, who's on death row for a 1998 murder of 64-year-old Elizabeth “Betty” Black during a home burglary in a Dallas suburb, argues that he would not have been convicted of murder if police had not used hypnosis in the investigation.

Here & Now's Robin Young talks to Lauren McGaughy of the Dallas Morning News, about her year-long investigation looking into why some officers still use hypnosis in court cases after it was banned in many states.

This segment aired on September 29, 2020.
