Senators Grill Big Tech On Section 230, One Of The Most Important Laws Governing The Internet

The Senate Commerce Committee is asking Google, Facebook and Twitter tough questions on Tuesday about Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act of 1996, which allows websites to moderate their own content, as well as remain immune from lawsuits regarding false content that users post on their sites.

Both Democrats and Republicans have expressed interest in revoking Section 230 for very different reasons, Sara Morrison of Recode tells us.
