WBUR has launched a new podcast called Edge Of Fame in partnership with The Washington Post, bringing Geoff Edgers' celebrity profiles to your ears.

The new podcast explores the concept of fame — before, behind and beyond the spotlight. The first episode features director Ava DuVernay, whose film adaptation of “A Wrinkle in Time” is one of the most anticipated movies of the year, and it’s available now.

DuVernay is the first African-American woman to direct a movie with $100 million dollar budget. Her inspiring story is captured by Edgers, along with insights from notable peers like Reese Witherspoon and Oprah Winfrey, who describes sharing her advice with DuVernay: "...if you just keep your eye on the prize that is your work.everything else will show up.

Listen now and subscribe to Edge Of Fame on Apple Podcasts - new episodes drop every Thursday. Upcoming episodes will feature Jimmy Kimmel, David Letterman and more.

The debut season is sponsored in part by Zip Recruiter, offering technology to help you find candidates that match your job qualifications. With additional sponsor support from  Living Proof haircare. Living Proof uses science developed at MIT to create solutions for every hair type. Use the code FAME at livingproof.com for a free dry shampoo with your $20 order.
