Overview: WBUR’s new biz and tech team is looking for a spring intern to join us from January through May. We focus on the innovation driving Boston’s economy – from tiny startups to mega companies like GE (and everything in between). You don’t have to know a lot about business or finance, you just need to be curious and hard-working. We’re particularly eager to hear from young journos with data skills and/or solid research and fact-checking experience. We’re a radio outlet, but increasingly we’re doing digital first and digital only stories.
- Research for radio feature stories
- Helping manage social media accounts
- Finding sources
- Interviewing sources
And, yes, we recognize, nobody wants to do an internship if they can’t also write some original content – so you’ll have the opportunity to write digital posts and voice radio spots for air (these are the top of the hour stories you hear on WBUR).
Here’s an example story - from our inaugural intern Gabi: http://www.wbur.org/bostonomix/2017/07/24/techstars-director-new-vc-fund

Interested candidates should send a resume to firstname.lastname@example.org by December 15th. Please include the word “Internship” in the subject line. Don’t worry about cover letters, but please include a bit about yourself in the email and explain why you want to intern with us. Hours are negotiable, so this gig would be ideal for students looking for part-time opportunities during the spring semester.
