Norris comes to NPR from ABC News where she was a correspondent for the Closer Look segments on World News Tonight with Peter Jennings. Norris has also reported for the Washington Post, Chicago Tribune and Los Angeles Times.

A four-time Pulitzer Prize entrant, Norris has received numerous awards for her work, including the 1989 Livingston Award, the 1990 Chesapeake Associated Press News Executive's Council Editorial Contest Award for Feature Writing, and the 1990 Federal Bar Association Media Award.

Norris attended the University of Wisconsin, where she majored in electrical engineering, and the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis where she majored in journalism.
