WBUR Newscast
Abigail Beshkin was most recently the Morning Edition producer at KJZZ, the NPR station in Phoenix, Arizona. There she produced pieces and interviews on uniquely southwestern issues, including drought and urban sprawl.
Abigail's pieces have been heard on KJZZ, NPR, and Voice of America, as well as on the public radio shows Marketplace and Studio 360. Her writing has appeared in the New York Times and on salon.com. Her work has earned an Associated Press Broadcaster's Association Award and an Edward R. Murrow award from the RTNDA.
Abigail earned her master's from Columbia University's graduate school of journalism in 2001, and her bachelor's from the University of Pennsylvania in 1996. Abigail has also served as the speech writer for the New York City Parks Department, and as a public affairs officer for Fordham and Columbia Universities.
A native of Boston, Abigail is happy to be back in the northeast, where she's unlikely to encounter the poisonous desert lizards known as gila monsters.
