Bianca Vazquez Toness

Morning Edition

Bianca Vazquez Toness got her start in journalism writing stories from Mexico for U.S. and Mexican publications. She spent two years covering city government and education for the Herald-Republic in Yakima, Washington before making the switch to radio in 2005. She learned radio journalism at Minnesota Public Radio, where she reported on everything from labor problems at Northwest Airlines to developments in the growing Latino community in the Twin Cities. She graduated from Princeton University in 1999 with a B.A. in cultural anthropology.
