Doug Tribou
Doug Tribou grew up in Reading, Massachusetts. He began his professional radio career as a producer at WRKO in Boston before working as a reporter and anchor at WHCU in Ithaca, New York.
In 1999 Doug became the program and news director for four stations in Portland, Maine, including Newsradio 560 WGAN and 970 WZAN. During his six years there, WGAN's team news coverage earned several awards from the Maine Assocation of Broadcasters and the Associated Press. Doug was also honored individually for his reporting on breaking news. Saga Communications named him its National Program Director of the Year in 2001.
Doug returned to Boston as the program director for the city's first ESPN Radio station. He joined WBUR's News Department in May 2006 and is most often heard on evenings and weekends.
While in Portland Doug taught radio news writing at the University of Southern Maine. His own college education took place at Syracuse University, where he earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
Doug, his wife, and their sizeable dog, Ox, live in the Boston area.
