Dave Faneuf is a native of Lowell and still resides there. He began his radio career at a small station in Brattleboro, Vermont, in 1973, eventually working his way back to Massachusetts.

Dave was news director at several area radio stations over the years, including WLLH and WCAP in Lowell, WCCM/WCGY in Lawrence.

Dave entered the Boston radio market in the early 1980s as a reporter and news anchor at WVBF, later at WBZ and WODS, before joining WBUR in 1999. He also owned a news service that provided Massachusetts news to the ABC Newswire.

Dave is the winner of a number of news awards from the Associated Press, United Press International, Massachusetts Broadcasters Association as well as the Achievement In Radio Award for Best Newscaster in Boston.

Dave is the evening news anchor at WBUR, responsible for gathering, writing and broadcasting the local newscasts as well as the local continuity breaks during some of WBUR’s most popular programs.

In his spare time, Dave is an avid boater and a member of the board of directors of the Lowell Motor Boat Club and retired member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, where he handled public affairs for Coast Guard Auxiliary in the 1st Coast Guard District.
