Producer, Podcasts & New Programs
Erika Lantz is a producer in WBUR's iLab, where she makes Kind World, a radio series/podcast that tells intimate stories about people who have profoundly affected one another. Her work on the series has won national Edward R. Murrow and Society of Professional Journalists awards for feature reporting.
Erika had a habit of recording tapes of friends and family in middle school, but she started making "real" radio years later, first with KFAI in Minneapolis and then with Performance Today, APM's classical music show. She comes to the iLab from PRX, where she curated the experimental story stream PRX Remix. Before that she worked in a variety of producer roles at WBUR. Hunting for stories, Erika has interviewed subsistence farmers in Transylvania and church leaders in Cameroon. She received her B.A. in English Literature at Yale University and trained in radio and video documentary at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies.
