Rating and Share are the foundation of radio analysis.
Both rating and share are expressed as percentages.
Rating refers to the number of people listening to a radio
station compared to the number of people in the market.
Share is the number of people listing to a specific radio
station compared to all people listening to radio at a
specified time |

AQH
Average Quarter-Hour Persons is the estimated average
number of persons listening to a station for at least
5 minutes during any quarter hour in a specific time period.
For example, if the Average Persons estimate for WXYZ
for Monday-Friday, 6 am to 10 am is 40,800 persons, then
the estimated average number of persons listening to WXYZ
in any quarter-hour period (beginning with 6 am to 6:15
am and ending with 9:45 am to 10:00 am) is 40,800 persons. |

AQH Rating
Average Quarter-Hour Persons estimate expressed as a percentage
of the population measured. |

AQH Share
Average Quarter-Hour Persons listening to a station during
a specific quarter-hour expressed as a percentage of all
persons who listen to radio during the time period. |

Cume
Cume Persons is the estimated number of different persons
who listen to a station at least once during a specific
period. The cume is sometimes called the "unduplicated
audience," "reach" or "circulation." |

Cume Rating
The estimated number of different persons who listen at
least once during a specified period. Cume rating is expressed
as a percentage of the entire metro population.
For example, if the Cume Persons estimate for WXYZ among
Adults aged 25-49 is 212,400, and the Boston Metro population
for Adults aged 25-49 is 1,539,000, then WXYZ's Cume Rating
is 13.8%. This means that more than 1 of 10 Adults aged
25-49 in the Boston metro area listen to WXYZ at least
once each week. |
