You make our programming possible. And we want to make sure we can help you any way we can. If you can’t find an answer to your question here, please contact us.
What constitutes a basic membership level?
A donation of $60 or more during each fiscal year.
What does membership mean?
It means you are entitled to the member benefits outlined on this website, including the discounts offered by our business partners. It also means that your financial support makes public radio possible.
How do I renew my membership?
Make a donation of $60 or more before the end of each fiscal year.
I requested a gift. When will it arrive?
It takes 6-8 weeks for us to ship gifts after a fundraiser is over. Please be patient.
If I receive a gift for my contribution, how does that effect what I can deduct from my taxes as a chratible gift?
The IRS requires us to deduct the fair market value of the gift from your total contribution, lowering the amount you can claim on your taxes as a charitable gift.
Can I donate continually on a monthly basis versus donating monthly just for one year?
Sure. Please contact us at 800.909.9287 or email us to arrange this plan.
When does WBUR’s fiscal year start and end?
Ends June 31st and begins July 1st.
How many fundraisers do you have each fiscal year?
Four quarterly fundraisers and two additional ones; Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day
I’ve heard you cut on-air fundraising. Is that true?
It is true. In fiscal year 2007, on-air fundraising will take up only 1/3 the total broadcasting time than it did in 2004.
I heard WBUR got rid of telemarketing?
We did. As of Fiscal Year 2007, we have halted all telemarketing activities.
Can I volunteer?
Of course! We always need extra help during our fundraisers. You can learn more about volunteer opportunities here.
