Debate Over Question 1 Weighs Possible Approval Of Second Slots Parlor In Mass.

Unlike the other three questions on the Massachusetts ballot in November, Question 1's impact could be limited to one small portion of the state.

If approved, the question would authorize a second slots parlor in this state — but only on land that meets certain requirements, which makes a site in Revere near the Suffolks Down racetrack the only likely location.

The actual benefits of the question were the topic of a public debate at UMass Boston, hosted in part by WBUR's Radio Boston on Wednesday. WBUR's Simón Rios reports.
