Katrina Survivors Find it Hard to Move Off Base

Almost a month after their arrival at Camp Edwards on Cape Cod, many survivors of Hurricane Katrina are finding it's not so easy to move off base. About 180 are living there at the moment, down from the peak population of 230 in early September.

Some have returned to New Orleans. Others have moved in with friends and family around the country. Those who want to remain in Massachusetts are finding that without transportation, jobs are hard to get, and that without jobs, housing is out of reach.

This program aired on October 4, 2005. The audio for this program is not available.
