Framingham, MA - November 15, 2005 - Researchers say that if society is really serious about tackling the achievement gap, then addressing what kids do when they are not in school is as important as improving in-class teaching.
According to them, everything from how a child spends her summer to extracurricular activities to early childhood learning must be examined.
WBUR's Monica Brady-Myerov looks at out-of-school time and how it can widen or narrow the gap.
