Lobbyist Finneran

Today's a big day for Beacon Hill's newest lobbyist.

Former House Speaker Tom Finneran is now allowed to lobby his former colleagues in the legislature. Under House rules he had to wait a year after leaving the House.

Finneran is hosting something of a coming-out party in Boston in his current role as the president of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council.

But the former speaker is also dogged by an indictment on perjury and obstruction of justice charges stemming from his testimony in federal court about the 2001 redrawing of legislative district boundaries.
