Outer Brewster Island LNG

Opponents of a proposed liquefied natural gas terminal on Outer Brewster Island say they have the votes they need to stop the proposal. 16 Senators have written a letter to Senate President Robert Travaglini telling him they oppose the project.

The opposition seems to doom the proposal. Because it would be built in the Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area, the project would require a two-thirds vote of the House and the Senate to take the island out of the park.
