Ferber: No More Tears

One of the nation's best known childhood experts is rethinking part of his philosophy about babies and sleep. In a new book out Tuesday, Dr. Richard Ferber, who works out of Children's Hospital in Boston, retools his method for getting babies to sleep through the night by letting them cry for increasingly longer periods of time. As health and science reporter Allan Coukell says, Dr. Ferber is so synonymous with the issue that his controversial approach has turned his name into a verb.
