A Conversation with Thomas Payzant

Thomas Payzant is retiring at the end of this month. He became Boston Public Schools superintendent in 1995, returning to his hometown after a stint as assistant secretary for elementary and secondary education in the Clinton administration. Payzant's departure caps an unusually long stretch of leadership in the Boston Public Schools. When we spoke with him in his office earlier this week, we started by talking about his initial goals for the job.

This program aired on June 8, 2006. The audio for this program is not available.
