Romney Comments on Tunnel Memo

Governor Mitt Romney says regardless of the dispute over the authenticity of a memo from a former big dig safety officer, the tunnel system was not effective and needs correction.

Big dig construction company Modern Continental is accusing its former safety officer, John Keaveney, of fabricating a 1999 memo which foretold problems with the interstate 90 connector tunnel, similar to the ones that caused ceiling panels to collapse last month and kill a woman.

Keaveney's lawyer says his client stands by the memo.
