Boston Non-Profit Receives MacArthur Grant

The MacArthur Foundation announces its first "genius" awards for institutions today and a small Boston non-profit is one of the nine recipients.

"Real Benefits" created and runs a one-stop, on-line application for low-income health care, fuel, food and tax assistance programs.

It claims to have enrolled 80,000 families in Massachusetts, Illinois and Maine families that didn't realize they were eligible for government assistance.

Joining us to talk about the award is Real Benefits Executive Director, Enrique Belanguer.

This program aired on August 24, 2006. The audio for this program is not available.
