Candidate Conversation: Deborah Goldberg

In the Massachusetts race for lieutenant governor, candidates typically hit the airwaves with campaign commercials immediately after Labor Day, and this election season is no exception.

Tim Murray of Worcester and Andrea Silbert of Harwich have been airing campaign commercials for the past week. Deborah Goldberg of Brookline started several weeks earlier.

Her family founded and ran the Stop & Shop supermarket chain and she grew up with that business. The Boston University graduate earned a law degree from Boston College and an MBA from Harvard. She worked in retail then increasingly moved into the public sector. From 1998, Goldberg served on the Brookline Board of Selectmen for six years, for two as its chair.

This program aired on September 13, 2006. The audio for this program is not available.
