Last Minute Stump Speeches

It's Primary Day in Massachusetts. The polls are open from 7 o'clock in the morning through 8 tonight.

Observers say the weather isn't likely to be a big influence on turnout. Instead, they're predicting that the results might hinge on unenrolled voters who can cast ballots, but tend to stay home for primaries.

All three Democratic candidates for governor appeared at a traditional election-eve rally in Dorchester last night. WBUR was there...and we bring you excerpts from each of the speeches...in the order in which they addressed the crowd.

First, you'll hear from venture capitalist Chris Gabrieli. Then Attorney General Tom Reilly, and finally, former US Assistant Attorney General Deval Patrick.

This program aired on September 19, 2006. The audio for this program is not available.
