Patrick Cruises to Victory

Deval Patrick is now the Democratic Party's candidate for the corner office. The former US assistant attorney general won the primary election last night, garnering a little more than 50 percent of the vote. Venture capitalist Chris Gabrieli came in second, while Attorney General Thomas Reilly trailed in third place.

That sets up a November battle between Patrick and Republican Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey, who was unopposed in voting yesterday.
