New School Superintendent Named

Mayor Tom Menino is announcing his selection for Boston's new Superintendent of Schools.

Manuel Rivera, is currently the Superintendent of Schools in Rochester, New York.

He met with school officials in Rochester this morning to announce he would leave at the end of the school year to accept the post in Boston.

The Boston School Committee is expected to vote on the recommendation next month.

The 54 year-old Rivera spent seven years heading up the Rochester School District.
