HP Hearings Involve Boston-Area Interests

A corporate spying scandal goes before the US Congress on Thursday. The House Energy and Commerce Committee is investigating the use of 'pretexting,' or gaining information under false pretenses, by Hewlett-Packard.

A Boston area security firm has been implicated in the affair and several locally affiliated business people are also under the congressional microscope. WBUR's Business reporter Curt Nickisch explains what's at stake.

This program aired on September 28, 2006. The audio for this program is not available.
