Bernstein: Boston to Broadway

The music of Leonard Bernstein will reverberate around Cambridge this weekend as a festival celebrating his life and work began at Harvard University last night.

The event, called "Leonard Bernstein: Boston to Broadway," will also feature master classes and panel discussions with members of his family, colleagues, and other people who knew Bernstein during his days in Boston.

One of the organizers is Carol Oja. She's a Professor of Music and co-director of a Harvard seminar on Leonard Bernstein. Professor Oja talks about Bernstein's Boston roots with WBUR's Deborah Becker.

This program aired on October 13, 2006. The audio for this program is not available.
