Cultural Capital of the New ICA

This week on Morning Edition, we've been talking about the first new art museum to be built in Boston in almost a hundred years: the Institute of Contemporary Art. The museum is holding a community open house this Sunday as part of the official opening of its new home on Boston's waterfront.

So far we've reviewed the ICA's architecture and toured its new permanent collection. Today ,we're examining the idea of cultural capital and how the new ICA might elevate Boston's image as a city...and destination...for the arts. As WBUR's Andrea Shea reports, hopes are high.

This program aired on December 7, 2006. The audio for this program is not available.
