Special Series: Bridges & Roads Part II

Experts agree that the state's transportation system is broken and that Massachusetts doesn't have the money to repair roads.

A recent report from the Transportation Finance Commission put the funding gap at a billion dollars a year. In the second of a special two-part series, WBUR's Meghna Chakrabarti traveled some rough roads in Western Massachusetts, searching for solutions.

For a multi-media tour of the state's troubled transportation infrastructure, and to add your own images of broken roads near you, go to our website wbur.org. Our series was produced by Claudine Ebeid.

This program aired on May 22, 2007. The audio for this program is not available.
