Summer Postcard: Boston Tourists

If Boston seems more crowded than ever, that's because the number of tourists continues to rise. Some 18 million are expected this year, according to the Convention and Visitors Bureau. It's the seventh year in a row the number's increased.

Tourism brings in almost 10 billion dollars annually, much of it during the summer. For tourists, Boston can be a bewildering maze of narrow streets and crowded sidewalks.

In the latest of our summer postcards, we visit the information booth on Boston Common.

WBUR's Susannah Thompson and Michael Garth produced this audio post card.
