DiMasi Stakes Out Strategy

As Governor Deval Patrick prepares to release the details of his plan to allow casinos in Massachusetts, his main legislative opponent on this issue is speaking out against it.

House Speaker Sal DiMasi says he's not convinced the state needs casinos, the jobs they will offer, or the revenue Patrick says they'll generate.

DiMasi is staking out an economic development strategy that is at odds with the Governor, not just on gambling, but also in other areas, as WBUR's Martha Bebinger reports from the State House.
