Report: 'Perfect Housing Storm'

More bad news about housing where you live: The Greater Boston Housing Report Card for 2006-2007 gives the region a broadly low grade on the housing front here.

In fact, the survey says some big stresses — declining home values, a troubled mortgage market, flat or falling incomes, and a drop in housing starts — all coalesce to form what the authors call a "perfect housing storm."

Barry Bluestone is a co-author. He's Dean of the School of Social Sciences, Urban Affairs and Public Policy at Northeastern University, and joins WBUR's Bob Oakes to talk about the latest housing survey.

This program aired on October 11, 2007. The audio for this program is not available.
