Tuning Into Ethnic Media
November second marks "The Day of the Dead," a traditional Mexican festival to honor loved ones who've died. It's an event that's featured...not so much in the English-language press...but a lot in the dozen or so Spanish-language outlets in Greater Boston.
They're part of a growing group of "Ethnic Media" that have become mainstream for the tens of thousands of immigrants who read and listen to them every day. For WBUR's "Radio Boston," Meghna Chakrabarti hopped into a taxi and headed to Mattapan, to find out where the Hub's Haitian immigrants are getting their news.
