Revolution Loses MLS Cup

There will be no Major League Soccer title for the New England Revolution. They lost to the Houston Dynamo 2-1 in the MLS cup yesterday.

For much of the action-packed game, it looked like the Revolution were finally going to win a title. New England was up in the first half after an arcing header, but then narrowly missed chances to pad the lead.

In the second half, Houston scored twice, and the Revolution could not get the ball past the Dynamo goalkeeper to even the score.

In the locker room afterward, Revolution forward Taylor Twellman talked about what went wrong.

"It was just unfortunate," Twellman said. "It was just one of those games where, if you look at the stats, everything's pretty much identical. But they got two goals, we got one."

It marks New England's fourth Major League Soccer World Cup appearance. The team has yet to win.
