Hatch Teams up with Kennedy

Senator Ted Kennedy plans to introduce a new bill on national service today. As he's currently undergoing treatment for brain cancer, the senator will be represented at the announcement by his niece Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg.

The "Serve America Act," as the bill is called, aims to recruit more Americans to do service work in areas, such as health, education, anti-poverty and environmental protection.

It's co-sponsored by Senator Orrin Hatch, a Republican who represents Utah. This isn't the first time he and Kennedy have cooperated across the political aisle on legislation.

We actually caught up with Senator Hatch at the Republican National Convention last week, when we talked with him about his bi-partisan work with Senator Kennedy.
