Hybrid Mandate for Hub Cabbies

Boston taxis are going green. This month, Mayor Tom Menino put the city's taxi fleet on the fast-track to clean cab technology with a new program that requires all Boston taxis to be hybrid or low-emissions vehicles by 2015. But the city won't purchase the new cars for the industry — cab owners will have to buy the new hybrids. And this has Boston cabbies up in arms. WBUR's Meghna Chakrabarti caught a cab to discover what's behind the battle over hybrids.
