Flemmi: FBI Phone Call Set '82 Murder in Motion

A former Boston mobster says a phone call from an FBI agent set in motion the 1982 murder of a former president of World Jai-Alai.

Stephen "The Rifleman" Flemmi testified today at the murder trial of FBI agent John Connolly. Flemmi said he was told it was a phone call from Connolly that tipped the mob off that agents were looking for the former World Jai-Alai president, John Callahan.

Flemmi said he was told that the FBI believed Callahan would cooperate and provide information about another murder orchestrated by Boston's Winter Hill Gang.

Flemmi said the mob killed Callahan to ensure his silence.
