Why Rep. Lynch Rejected the Bailout
After the bailout bill failed in the US House yesterday, one of its lead negotiators took aim at the naysayers.
Massachusetts Democrat, Congressman Barney Frank specifically addressed the Republicans he said could have made the difference, "I'll make an offer: Give me the names of those 12 people and I'll go talk uncharacteristically nice to them."
But, while 133 Republicans rejected the plan, there were 95 Democrats who also chose to say 'No.' Among them: three members of the all-Democratic Massachusetts delegation. One of them, Rep. Stephen Lynch, joins WBUR's Bob Oakes to explain his position.
