Remembering When Harvard Beat Yale, 29-29

It's called simply "The Game" — Harvard versus Yale in football, every November.

The teams meet at Harvard Stadium on the 40th anniversary of what's remembered by many as the greatest-ever Harvard-Yale game.

In 1968, both teams were undefeated, 8-0. Yale had a 16-point lead with under a minute to go, but Harvard scored two touchdowns and executed a pair of two-point conversions — all in the final 42 seconds.

The game ended in a tie. But as WBUR's Deborah Becker reports, that didn't dampen the Harvard celebration.

This program aired on November 21, 2008. The audio for this program is not available.
