Senate Panel Unveils Budget

BOSTON, Mass. - May 14, 2008 - On Beacon Hill, senate budget writers unveiled their version of the state's $28 billion spending plan for the fiscal year that begins in July.

The plan includes millions of dollars in new revenue, some based on new taxes that have not been finalized yet.

Steven Panagiotakos is the chairman of the Senate Ways and Means Committee. He talks with WBUR's Steve Brown about the budget.
