Explosion Reported At Mass. Casting Factory

Four injuries have been reported after an explosion in a factory that makes high-tech castings in Braintree.

Deputy Chief Russell Jenkins told reporters that the blast occurred in the southern portion of Wollaston Alloys and blew out glass windows.

Jenkins said two of the people who were hurt were taken to the hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The blast occurred about 11:30 a.m. at the factory on Wood Road. Roughly 75 employees were evacuated.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
