HEFA Pick Backs Off Large Salary
After fierce criticism, Governor Patrick's pick for a job on a state board says she'll forego some of her salary.
State Senator Marian Walsh will be paid $120,000 in her new job as assistant executive director of the Massachusetts Health and Educational Facilities Authority (HEFA).
"$120,000 is still a lot of money but it is a significant difference what she and HEFA had agreed to at the beginning," Patrick says, "And I appreciate her leadership on that."
The salary had been $175,000.
Patrick has also commissioned an independent review of all salaries on state boards.
