Group Urges Archdiocese To Name Accused Clergy
Survivors of clergy sexual abuse are calling on Boston Archbishop Cardinal Sean O'Malley to release a comprehensive list of priests accused of sexual abuse.
Bishopaccountability.org's Anne Barrett Doyle says making the list of credibly-accused abusers would help victims heal.
"The 5 or 6 years that Cardinal O'Malley has been surpressing the names of credibly accused priests, are 5 or 6 years that a mother has gone to bed crying because she doesn't understand what happened to her son. It's 5 or 6 years that a victim has gone to bed without validation," Barrett Doyle says.
The Archdiocese says it may consider releasing such a list. It currently publicizes the names of all priests removed because of abuse allegations.
